Our Home

Home

We live in a three-bedroom house in a friendly, family-oriented subdivision in the mountains of western North Carolina. A priority when buying this house was to have a place where we could continue to grow our family and have access to better schools, outdoor activities, and parks. Our neighborhood has many families with small children and even throws occasional block parties for the kids. We have access to great schools and many parks and outdoor trails. We have two cats, Avery and Paisley, and one dog, Remy. Our pets are loving and snuggly and get along well with kids.

Our Family

Extended Family

Darian is one of eight in a large blended family of full, half- and step-siblings. Each of his siblings have children of their own, so we have 18 nieces and nephews and one great-niece. We enjoy getting together to celebrate birthdays and holidays, and some of us even vacation together. We have an annual chili cookoff and an annual soup night, normally followed by an outdoor fire for roasting marshmallows.

Brittany has three younger sisters and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. We get together often to celebrate birthdays and holidays. We have an annual Egg Roll Day, where we get together and make homemade egg rolls. Everyone is involved, down to the children, with making the filling and hand rolling hundreds of egg rolls that we later enjoy for dinner. One of our favorite traditions is traveling to cut down Christmas trees, with lunch and shopping to follow. Brittany has family that lives out of town as well, and we make plans to see them periodically throughout the year.
