Dear Birthmother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. I am thinking about you and the difficult position you are in. It takes such a brave and selfless soul to make the decision to consider adoption for your baby. I cannot imagine what you are going through—and on top of that, reading letters from hopeful adoptive parents waiting for the best day of their lives while your heart is breaking. You are strong and you are loved.

I have wanted to become a mom for much of my life. I have seen my loved ones and my friends becoming mothers. It is such a gift and blessing. That is what you are to me. You and your baby are the gift and blessing I cannot do on my own. You and your baby are the ones who may make me a mother and allow my dream to come true. You and your baby may make my immediate family complete and whole. For that, I will be thankful and grateful forever. It is the best gift of all.

With many thanks,
Heather

If chosen, I promise to always do my absolute best to be the best mother I can be for your baby. I will be loving, patient, tender, caring, gentle, kind, and strong. I will do so by honoring you, as without you, none of this is possible.
Take care of yourself, and take care of your heart.

My Home

Home

I love my home and community. I have owned my home for four years and have lived in my town for most of my life. I live in northeastern Illinois. My parents live one mile away. I have moved away from my hometown twice, once for college and once for a new adventure on the West Coast, and I have always come back. My heart and soul belong here. I live in a quiet neighborhood between an elementary school and a high school. The town is walkable with paths, a lake, parks, a park district, schools, shops, and restaurants. It is a safe, great place for a child to grow up. There are many families with children who live in the community.

My Family

Extended Family

I am a daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and granddaughter. I am lucky to still have one living grandparent. My grandmother is 89 years old. I have one brother, whom I have a close relationship with, and see him many times per month. I spend time with my parents multiple times per week. We have family dinner every Tuesday and often on the weekends too. I have many cousins and aunts and uncles. I have a cousin I am particularly close with. I was a nanny to her daughter for five years of her life, from the ages of four months to five years old. We have a very special relationship to this day and forever will.

My extended family is very close as well. We like to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and holidays with family parties. Because there are many of us, family gatherings occur pretty frequently.
