Dear Birthmother

Dear Expectant Mother,

We first would like to take the time to express our gratitude to you for the difficult decision you are currently facing. Without brave women like you, we would not be able to live out our dream of becoming dads. This is something we have prayed for since before we were even a couple. We appreciate the time you are taking to look over our profile to see if we would be the perfect fit to raise your precious miracle.

As we embark on this journey of becoming parents, we have never been more sure of something in our lives. In our eight-plus years together, we have been blessed in many different ways that include living in two different states, visiting multiple countries, rescuing two amazing dogs, buying our first house, getting married, and many more. However, little of this could have been done without the support system we have carefully built around us. Our family back in Oklahoma and our chosen family in Texas have been supportive from the beginning and can’t wait to continue to support us in parenthood. We cannot think of a greater joy in life. We assure you we will do everything in our power to be the best role models to help raise this child to be everything they’re meant to be.

Thank you for your consideration. We cannot wait to share our love with your child when they complete our family and make us parents for the first time.

Love,
Philip & Bret

About Us

We both grew up in Oklahoma. In 2015 we met where Philip was teaching social studies at a local middle school and Bret was pursuing his BBA in energy management at a University. Upon graduation, Bret accepted a job offer as a land negotiator in Texas. This moved us to Texas in the summer of 2017. Philip quickly began working at a small private school in Houston as a social studies teacher for grades 6-12. Since starting his career as a land negotiator, Bret has obtained his MBA and made an internal career move to become a business advisor for the company. In 2020 we bought our first home together and got engaged that summer. We got married in the spring of 2023. In our free time, we love to play with our pups, have game nights, spend time with friends and family, camp, and much more!

What Led Us To Adoption

We both knew from early on in our relationship that we wanted to not only spend the rest of our lives together but also to create a family together. We both grew up in large and tight-knit families full of love and support. There is nothing we want more than to pass on that very same love and support to a little one. We are fortunate to have created a loving home of our own that is the perfect space for a child to flourish and an amazing community of friends and family. There will certainly be no shortage of love, laughter, and peace in our home for a child.

Our Home

Home

We live in a three-bedroom, 2.5-bath house split between two stories. We have been living here for over three years now and have worked diligently to transform this house into a home. We have two adorable dogs. Our first dog is seven years old, around 30 pounds, and named Mateo. Our second dog is three years old, around 40 pounds, and named Twyla. They both love meeting new people, playing with their toys, going on walks, and snuggling with their “dads.” While there is much to do in the surrounding neighborhoods, our home is perfect for a staycation as well. We have a spacious backyard with a pool that children and adults can both enjoy!

Our Family

Extended Family

Philip is the oldest of four children with two younger brothers and one sister. Bret is the middle child in his family with an older brother and younger sister. We both have amazing relationships with not only our siblings but our parents as well. In addition to our immediate families, we each have a grandmother, a handful of aunts and uncles, and an almost incalculable number of cousins. We are also blessed to be uncles to two beautiful nieces, ages three and five.

We enjoy spending holidays with family whenever possible. The largest family get-togethers are centered around Christmas and the Fourth of July. As our families live in Oklahoma, we are sometimes unable to get together for every holiday, life event, or celebration. Luckily, that is where our “chosen family” comes in. We have been fortunate to find an excellent group of friends here that we can count on for anything. Between us, our families, and our friends, we have no doubt that our child will be surrounded with more love than ever imagined.
