Dear Birthmother

First off, we want to say thank you. Thank you for considering us as the future caregivers and family of your baby. It means the world to us. Secondly, we want to say we are proud of you. We are proud of you for making this difficult choice to ensure your child has a great life in a loving home. Know that this child will be loved with all we have as we work endlessly to ensure they have all they need.

We were lucky to meet Eden’s birthmother in person before the birth of our daughter, and it is something we will never forget. We spent a bit of time in Utah after her birth and even returned shortly before her first birthday for a vacation to show her where she was born.

We are annual passholders to Disney World in Florida, and we could not wait to share the magic Disney holds with a child. Seeing the pure joy and excitement on our daughter's face when seeing her favorite characters is just something that words cannot describe. We cannot wait to share that experience again and let Eden lead her new sibling in Disney life.

We are truly blessed with the life we have, and we cannot wait to share it. Neither of us can imagine life now without a child and look forward to our next chapter as our family continues to grow.

About Us

Hello! We are Philip and Daniel, and we work together in a corporate office for a large home improvement retailer. Daniel works in merchandising for online blinds and shades, while Philip works in merchandising for outdoor power equipment. As cliche as it sounds, we are each other's best friend. We were married in January 2019 after being together for over ten years. Meeting at college in New York around 2006, we started dating in 2008 and decided to move to North Carolina together after graduating in 2011. We have seen many challenges over the years, like moving states, getting married, and starting a family, but we have overcome them and they have made our relationship stronger. We love to travel, especially sightseeing, and spending time with our family at home. In 2021 we adopted our daughter, Eden, from Utah. Fatherhood has been a crazy adventure, but we would not change a thing!

What Led Us To Adoption

As a same-sex couple, having a child naturally is not an option for us. After we explored our options, we decided adoption was the best fit for us and our family. We had always been each other's family and knew something was missing, but that missing piece was found when we adopted Eden. When we first met and started dreaming of the future, we had always said we wanted a family of four. These past few years with Eden have been amazing, and she is ready to become a big sister!

Our Home

Home

With a growing family and in need of more space, three years ago we moved from our first home to a larger house with more room. We are in a quaint suburb of North Carolina that is only about 30 minutes away from the city so we can explore the many restaurants. Our neighborhood has a huge community swimming pool, with a playground as well outdoor areas like walking trails. Phoebe, our dog, is a chihuahua mix who loves kids. Phoebe and Eden are best friends. They like to play with toys, run in the yard, and lounge together while watching a movie.

Our Family

Extended Family

We both come from loving families, but to us, family is more than just blood. We have a great group of friends we consider family. A few of them have children, and we consider them our nieces and nephews.

Both our families are from New York. We are lucky to have Philip’s brother, sister-in-law, and nephew about 20 miles away, and Philip’s dad currently lives about 10 minutes away and comes over weekly for his visits with Eden. Our families just absolutely adore Eden, and we know the same will be true for another child.

When Philip was younger, his family visited the Festival of Lights in Canada. They went to the fair every summer, and all holidays were spent at his grandpa’s house, where they would have large Italian meals. Daniel also spent all major holidays and even many weeknight dinners at his grandparents’.
