Dear Birthmother
Dear Expectant Mother,
We would like to begin by saying that just by being in this process, you have impressed us with your strength and force of love. We cannot imagine this decision is easy, but we do know that by making it, you will make a miraculous impact on many lives. Your life, your journey, your love…these things have been demonstrated by this one act, and for that, you will forever have us in your corner supporting you.
From the bottom of our hearts, we hope you know that if you choose us, you would be our joy and a blessing to us and to the child you are bringing into the world. There is no easy way to describe our gratitude or respect for you, but what we hope most of all is that you understand what we mean when we tell you even though we do not know you—and even though we have never met you, laughed with you, or cried with you—we love you just as we will love your child if you choose us.
We do not know how you may be feeling right now. All we know is that you deserve to be told (if you haven’t already) that you are loved so much by so many people, and as long as we are able, we will make sure you are remembered for your courage and your impact on our lives and that your child will know that as well.
With love,
Dylan and Kevin
About Us
Kevin is a friendly spirit who loves gardening and always has several projects going, such as new flower beds or vegetable gardens. He can be found in any group learning new things about the people around him and making friends with everyone. Dylan enjoys one-on-one activities that let him sit back and focus on what is at hand, such as woodworking, playing chess, or reading. He also enjoys cleaning because he loves to see a space transform around him! We both love theater and have been active in it since we were young. We enjoy going to all sorts of musical and theatrical productions. Careerwise, we have both made a home for ourselves in education. Kevin has a long career as a university professor, and Dylan is the director for an educational company (although secretly he wants to run a golden retriever farm). We have taught for several years and love everything about school and learning.
What Led Us To Adoption
When we first met, one of the first things we discussed was that we both wanted to be dads. Both of us have strong connections and relationships with our parents. Kevin’s brother-in-law, who was a childhood friend, was adopted and has shared his experiences with us. Thanks in part to him sharing those experiences, we understand family is not just a biological connection. Both of us have careers in education because of the love our families instilled in us. Adoption was the natural path for us to share that love with a child, and we can’t wait to show them the same acceptance and love our families have shown us!
Our Home

We are the owners of a newly constructed home near a beautiful lake in Texas. We share the house with our two dogs, a lovable schnauzer-poodle mix named Topher and a rambunctious Yorkie named Tucker. We are in an up-and-coming area surrounded by lots of diverse, young families in a very close-knit neighborhood. We have a resort being built right across the lake from us that will house lots of water attractions that we can’t wait to go to! It will be a perfect place to take kids as they grow up. Additionally, we live next to one of the best school districts in the state with lots of opportunities for any student to learn about themselves and their interests. We absolutely love where we live and can't imagine living anywhere else!
Our Family

Kevin has a twin sister and a brother-in-law who are parents to our sweet toddler nephew who is also our godson. Kevin’s mom and dad live near our large extended family in Alabama, where he grew up. With ten first cousins, a dozen second cousins, and several aunts and uncles, gatherings are always lively and boisterous events! One of our favorite family activities and traditions is to gather at the family lake house and go boating.
Dylan has family closer to home in Texas. His mom and dad live a short distance away and regularly come over for dinner. He has several cousins, aunts, and uncles (and all their assorted pets and children) who regularly come over for family game nights and make life in Texas super colorful.
Both families bring their love of food to the forefront, and our traditions revolve around large-scale feasts. Kevin’s family loves a good BBQ, and Dylan’s family is all about Southern cooking. The last few years we have loved hosting family in our home for all sorts of different meals!
