Dear Birthmother
Dear Expectant Mother,
Words cannot express the gratitude we have for your bittersweet decision to place your baby for adoption. We know this decision was not made lightly, and we sympathize with the position you are in. Because of your selflessness, we have the opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming parents. We support your decision and will help in whatever way we are able.
We are thankful that you have taken the time to read through our adoption profile. We hope we can be the best possible adoptive parents for your baby. You and your child will be loved, respected, and accepted by our entire family and community. We promise to actively honor your child’s birth family and culture throughout their life. As teachers, we are committed to giving your child a promising future through education, travel, and lifelong learning. It is of utmost importance that your baby grows up in an environment with unconditional love, where they feel safe, encouraged, and inspired to be exactly who they are.
We are appreciative beyond measure that you have viewed our adoption profile and have considered us to be your baby’s adoptive parents. Please know that your generous decision to place your baby for adoption is greatly appreciated and we would be honored to be chosen as the adoptive parents for your baby.
Sincerely,
Ethan & Haley
About Us
We have been together since 2016 and married in 2019. We are both teachers who teach at the same school. We met when Haley’s friend married Ethan’s friend. Everyone would hang out together, and this is when we built our own special relationship. Together, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing games, traveling, and learning new things. We are also active in our community and help coach our local high school’s German folk dance team. This allows us to travel all over the state for performing at festivals. It’s very rewarding and fun. We love to travel around Texas and are looking forward to traveling around the United States and the world eventually! Learning about the world, other cultures, and history is very important to both of us, and we hope to share this passion with our child as they grow.
What Led Us To Adoption
We were both led to adoption for similar reasons. Ethan’s family has several members who were adopted, so he has been around adoption for his entire life. Haley has been inspired to adopt through working with children as a teacher and volunteer for over a decade. Caring for children who are not biologically ours is something we do daily. While teaching is much different from parenting, we hope to apply this same mindset when it comes to adoption.
Our Home
We have a three-bedroom, 1 ½-bathroom home on half an acre of land. We live in a small Texas town of about 2,000 people. The community is tight knit but very accepting to newcomers. Our town is close to a major lake in Texas and has an idyllic little town square surrounded by businesses and churches. Like the town, our local school district is small, with only one elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school. We also work in the town that we live in at the intermediate school, which is less than a five-minute commute. There are several larger towns and cities nearby that we enjoy visiting. We have a dachshund named Millie, who is two years old, is very friendly, and loves humans.
Our Family
Ethan has a mother, a father, and two brothers. Both of his brothers are married, and one has two young children of his own. Ethan has many cousins who mostly live within an hour away. We see each other around holidays but are in frequent contact with each other through phone calls and messaging. We enjoy outdoor activities such as camping and cooking out. The last few years we have planned a large family vacation in the summer, where we all stay in a rented house and enjoy the local attractions while spending time together.
Haley is an only child and is close with both her mom and dad, who live about 20 minutes away. Haley does have a large extended family on both sides and is on good terms with them. Most of her extended family lives within 90 minutes away, and we see them at least annually for holidays and other events. Our favorite is the big gathering on Christmas Eve. Haley also has extended family in South Carolina and enjoys visiting them with the rest of her family.
