Dear Birthmother

As a newlywed couple raised in close-knit families, we have dreamed of the day we will expand our family. We are extremely grateful you have chosen to review our profile to get to know us and want to express so much appreciation for considering us in your adoption plan.

Being a gay couple working in the federal government in the State of Texas made it feel like our dream of having a child would never come true. But we both knew we wanted the opportunity to raise a child in an environment full of love, traditions, support, and inclusiveness. We want you to know your baby will be raised loving the outdoors, learning the art of music, finding a desire for education, and being encouraged to find their passion in life.

We cannot begin to understand the incredible amount of strength and courage you must have during this process, but we want to reassure you we will be there to support you through this process and show you that your baby will be raised in a home that values love, respect, and integrity. We appreciate your willingness and consideration of us during this process.

From the bottom of our hearts,
Joseph & Javier

About Us

Years ago, we did not think our lives would lead us to this moment. Javier grew up in New Mexico and Joe grew up in Illinois before pursuing our careers and ultimately ending up in Texas. While navigating our careers in the federal government, we fell in love. After four years of dating, we had our dream wedding in front of family and our closest friends. As we have settled into our new home with our fur baby, Jaxton, we could not be more excited to start our family. Although we have remained busy with house projects, we enjoy playing tennis, working out, and spending time with our family and friends. Joe has also taken up photography and learning Spanish, while Javier is learning the piano.

What Led Us To Adoption

Both of us have been blessed with incredible families, including many nieces and nephews. As our relationship bloomed, we immediately knew we wanted to expand our family. With the challenges we faced as an LGBTQ couple, we began researching all available options out there. Luckily for us, we personally know many people who have experienced the adoption process, and they shared the fulfillment they felt once their family was complete. Although we understand this process can bring its own challenges, our excitement is beyond what we can explain.

Our Home

Home

We live in a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home that sits in a quiet, safe neighborhood. We have many public parks and trails nearby, which include water parks and playgrounds. Although our home was built in 1976, the previous homeowner renovated our home, which now includes an upstairs loft. Our backyard is perfect for entertaining with a yard and patio. We also have access to the community pool and clubhouse in our neighborhood. The surrounding area is full of restaurants, stadiums, shopping, and entertainment. The city regularly has community events. More importantly, we have one dog we cherish and love with all our hearts. Jaxton, a Jack Russell, stole our hearts eight years ago and is full of love and energy.

Our Family

Extended Family

We remain very close to our extended families, and they are excited for us to expand our family. Joe's father passed away in 2006, but his mother has continued to live in his hometown in Illinois. He has two brothers, one sister, and twelve nieces and nephews. Javier's father passed away in 2012, but his mother and stepfather have continued to live in his hometown in New Mexico. He has one brother, two half-sisters, and six nieces and nephews. We visit our families throughout the year, especially during the holidays to enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. In addition to our family, we have an amazing chosen family among our friends in Texas. Our friends have expressed their excitement and support for our adoption journey. We are excited to incorporate a mix of family traditions into our own family.
