We want to thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child and taking your time to read about us! While this is just a brief snapshot, we hope our profile provides you with a look inside the life your child will have should you trust us with this immensely important decision. Though we’ll never fully understand the decision ahead of you, please know we do not take your decision lightly.
We can thank you a million times, but the best way we can think of to say thank you is to promise you the many opportunities your child will have with us, from the little things to the big things. Most importantly, we aim to provide your baby with unconditional love, laughter, education, and support.
About Us
We are both lifelong Minnesotans. Our journey together started in July 2018, when we met on Match. We moved in together in April 2019 and married in September 2021 in a wonderful ceremony, surrounded by our family and friends. We have one 14-year-old daughter from Jess’s first marriage whom we have every other weekend. She loves arts and crafts, movies, and giving us plenty of eyerolls. We are avid sports enthusiasts. We love to spend time with family as much as we can. Summertime in Minnesota is our favorite, and we love to plant in our garden boxes, go camping, and spend time on our deck grilling. Julie enjoys playing recreational softball and hockey, and Jess enjoys fishing. Jessica is an accounts payable manager for a healthcare company, and Julie is a lead grants specialist in the public sector. We both work from home and enjoy the work–life balance and flexibility that comes with it.
What Led Us To Adoption
We are blessed to have a close family friend who has a home in Florida. Every year we receive an invite during the Minnesota winters and take a couple of family trips. We do a lot of activities, from sightseeing dolphins on the pontoons to visiting local hotspots, playing numerous card games, and spending days at the beaches, where we enjoy the sun (with Julie in the shade 🙂) and shelling.
Another favorite yearly adventure is that we take a family vacation up to the North Shore (Duluth, MN) and rent a cabin on Lake Superior. We enjoy campfires, roasting marshmallows, playing board games, and spending quality time together before the new school year starts.
We also love to attend various sporting events supporting the Minnesota teams and concerts when we are lucky enough to get tickets!
Our Home
We were very fortunate to find our forever home in August 2021. We have a five-bedroom, three-bath home in a Minnesota suburban area in a quiet cul-de-sac. We are within walking distance of an elementary, middle, and high school, and there are several parks near us. We also have some cool attractions near us, including the zoo, Mall of America, and state fair, just to name a few. We have two cats who are two-year-old brothers named Mario and Luigi. We also recently rescued two kittens from Jess’s family farm and named them Yoshi and Peach. We weren’t looking for more cats but are glad they are safe, healthy, and ready to be spoiled!
Our Family
Jessica has a large but close extended family. Many of their traditions include yearly camping trips and vacations to Florida during spring break or just getting together on a random Saturday at someone’s pool or for dinner.
Julie has a close immediate family. They like to get together for family dinners and cookouts, holidays, and family trips up north in the summer. We enjoy having our nephews over to hang out or for sleepovers. They love Jess’s video games expertise. Julie also enjoys fantasy baseball with family in honor of her late uncle.
