Dear Birthmother
We can only imagine the emotions you are feeling right now—the weight of making a decision that will shape both your future and your child's. We want you to know that we deeply respect and admire your strength in navigating this journey. Please know that if you choose us, your baby will be embraced with unwavering love, security, and the warmth of family.
Children have brought immense joy to our lives through our extended families and community. We have long imagined raising a child of our own—guiding them through life's discoveries, celebrating their milestones, and encouraging their passions. We dream of days filled with laughter, bedtime stories, and adventures that fuel their curiosity. We cannot wait to witness the moments that define who they become—their first steps, their favorite book, the activities that bring them joy—and to support them every step of the way.
Above all, we will ensure that your child knows how deeply cherished they were from the very beginning. They will always know the incredible love that brought them into this world and the courage you have shown in making this decision.
Whatever path you take, please know that you are not alone. We honor the love you are showing for your child. We are here with open hearts, ready to embrace them with love, devotion, and a future full of possibilities.
With heartfelt appreciation (and hugs from a distance),
Lisa & Mike
Our Home
We live in Virginia with our dog, Splotch. Our home is in town nearby a school and playground, but we also have property 20 minutes outside town. It is 14 acres with a cozy house, our vegetable garden, and a pond that is perfect for fishing and get-togethers.
Our city is best described as a “family town”, known for its schools and wonderful community. Splotch also highly recommends hiking on the trails. We live within driving distance of a lot of other fabulous places, being 3 hours from both Washington, DC, and Charlotte, NC. We love that our location has nearby cultural experiences while being a more relaxed hometown. With libraries, parks, and the town's children's museum, we can't imagine a better place to raise a child.
Our Family
Trips to Mike's family in Florida are a blast. His sister has two wonderful daughters, who share our LEGO love, while his brother has three amazing children who are passionate about art and basketball. The magic never fades on their Disney visits.
Lisa's family is more spread out, with a sister with two kiddos in Idaho and another sister in Texas. Although it's a long distance for simple pleasures, our favorite is watching Top Chef while eating takeout Chinese food.
We are lucky to have friends who are truly family. Mike has known his best friends for over 20 years, and their tradition of staying up until four in the morning playing games remains strong (though Lisa taps out by 11!). Lisa has known her best friend since preschool, and no year feels complete without at least one trip to see her and our "adopted" nieces and nephews. These trips often come with extra adventure, roping Mike into home improvement projects like building a swing set or pool or, one year, tackling backyard irrigation with full-fledged construction equipment!
Our weekends in Virginia are spent cheering on friends' kids at soccer games and gymnastics. Seeing them thrive truly makes every moment special.
