Dear Birthmother

Dear Expectant Mother,

Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us as potential adoptive parents. While we would never assume to understand how challenging this decision must be, we want you to know we have the utmost respect for your selflessness and strength as you consider what options will be best for your child.

We want you to know that should you choose us, we promise to always put your child first and to love them unconditionally. We promise to be there for the good and the bad and to be a constant source of love and support through every achievement, every failure, and every milestone.

We are grateful for the possibility of loving, nurturing, and caring for your child and are humbled that you would consider us to receive such an incredible gift. It would be our honor to support you through this journey and to connect with you on whatever level you feel comfortable. We believe strongly in open communication, honesty, and respect and can assure you we will be reliable, compassionate, and flexible sources of support for whatever you may need during this process.

With love, respect, and much gratitude,
Taylor & Nicole

About Us

Hi there! We are Taylor and Nicole. We met on Match.com in 2013 while we were each in our final year of graduate school. In 2015 we were engaged, and in July of 2016 we had a beautiful wedding with our family and friends. We have a wonderful relationship that is built upon a foundation of trust, mutual respect, and friendship. We have spent the last 11 years working hard to establish our careers: Taylor is a family nurse practitioner, and Nicole is a contracting officer for the U.S. government. In our free time, we enjoy visiting with family and friends, traveling, cooking and trying new restaurants, taking our dog for walks on the beach, and swimming in our pool. We have created a life together that we love and are proud of and cannot wait to share it with our future child!

What Led Us To Adoption

Although today there are many options for same-sex couples to become parents, adoption has always been something we have planned for and feel passionately about. As a same-sex couple, we have accepted that there will be unique challenges facing both us and our future children as a non-traditional family, but we believe strongly that the love and respect we have for each other as well as the solid foundation on which our relationship stands will be enough to overcome any obstacle. In our many years together, we have worked hard to better ourselves as individuals and as partners so that our future children may grow up in a strong, safe, and loving nuclear family.

Our Home

Home

We live in a small Massachusetts suburb close to both Boston and Cape Cod. Our home is located in a small neighborhood shared by 11 other families. We share a large recreational field where we gather for block parties, volleyball games, and sledding in the winter. We are fortunate to share the home where Taylor was raised with her mother, who is retired and cannot wait to become a grandmother! Our home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large, fenced-in backyard. We have two cats named Beau and Biscuit and one dog named Stella. Stella has gone through formal training and has been well socialized with people and other animals.

Our Family

Extended Family

We are very fortunate to live close to both our immediate and extended families. Taylor has two sisters, both living in Massachusetts. One sister is married to a wonderful husband and brother-in-law. While they do not have children of their own, they are counting down the days to when they will have a new niece or nephew to spoil! Her other sister is a successful team leader in Boston. She is an experienced nanny and Big Sister volunteer who cannot wait to be an aunt!

Nicole’s mother and twin sister live together in Connecticut. Her mom is a wonderful mother and best friend to both daughters. Nicole’s sister enjoys spending time with her dog, Lexie. She is also a very experienced nanny and loves children of all ages.

Our extended family includes several aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins living throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut. We also have several close friends we consider part of our chosen family. We are proud “aunties” to five children ranging in age from two months to 18 years.
