Hello from Keith and Rakia!
Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to introduce ourselves and tell you a little about our family. We admire you for your strength, bravery, and selflessness.
Should you choose us, your child will be cherished and valued for who they are. We will nurture them throughout their lives as we support them in becoming the happiest and healthiest version of themselves. We will provide a safe and loving home, a place of stability and support from which he or she can stretch, test, and eventually spread their wings to soar to their highest potential.
Your child will participate in a wide variety of activities and will have the opportunity to develop hobbies and skills based on his or her own interests. We love spending most of our time together, but we also understand the value of and enjoy our extended family and friendships too. It is important to us to continue to develop, grow, and learn with and from each other as we journey together through life as a family.

About Us
Meet Rakia and Keith, two souls brought together by fate and a family connection eight years ago. Rakia, a pediatric speech language pathologist, received a special invitation from her uncle to an intimate gathering, where she met Keith, an Air Force veteran with a passion for service. Little did we know, amid the warm laughter and sizzling grill, we were embarking on a lifetime journey. After eight years together, we took the next step and got married. Rakia enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with Moroccan and Italian cuisines, while Keith finds solace in nature, fishing, and exploring the worlds of stock trading and anime. Our diverse hobbies bring us together, teaching patience, creativity, and the importance of shared experiences. Now, as we eagerly await the opportunity to expand our family through adoption, our home is filled with warmth, understanding, and endless opportunities for growth.
What Led Us To Adoption
We've faced unexpected medical challenges in expanding our family. This realization spurred us toward adoption as we recognize family is defined by love, not biology. Our decision is rooted in resilience and a deep belief in the power of family. Though the path may have obstacles, we approach it with determination, envisioning the joy a child will bring. Our hearts are open and ready to provide a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. Every twist and turn has led us here, and we are grateful for the opportunity to embrace this new chapter as a family.
Our Home
Nestled just a ten-minute drive from a vibrant city, our home offers the best of both worlds. The city boasts museums, a national zoo, and a diverse international community, while nearby outdoor adventures await, from camping to beach trips. Our cozy, three-bedroom townhome resides in a family-oriented community, where laughter fills playgrounds and the pool glistens under the summer sun. With walking trails, playgrounds, and a welcoming community center, our neighborhood fosters belonging. Inside, our home exudes warmth and comfort, providing ample space for growth and exploration. Whether it's movie nights, game nights, or culinary experiments, every corner radiates love and endless possibilities.
Our Family
Though our families may be spread across different states, the bonds of love and connection remain strong. Rakia’s family resides in the suburban Northeast, while Keith's is in the rural South. Despite the distances, we cherish our family ties and make every effort to nurture them, especially during the holidays.
Two of our cherished traditions are annual Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, where we choose a new location each year to come together as an extended family to celebrate. Keith’s family has a tradition of a chili/soup cookoff during Christmas. Rakia’s family always includes music and games no matter the occasion! Whether it's a cozy cabin in the mountains, a beachside retreat, or a bustling city full of festive lights, we value and nurture the opportunity to create lasting memories with our loved ones.
These gatherings are more than just holiday celebrations; they're a time for reconnecting, reminiscing, and creating new traditions. From preparing festive meals together to sharing stories around the fireplace, each moment is filled with warmth and laughter.
