Dear Birthmother

Dear Expectant Mother,

How do we even start? Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our lives to get to know us better. You mean so much to us already, and we have not gotten the chance to know or meet you yet. You are considering giving us the GREATEST gift anyone can ever give us. We will never completely understand the difficult decision you are facing, but we are super grateful to be with you through this process. Should you choose us, we look forward to being there for you every step of the way with whatever you may need. We want nothing but the best for you and your family at this time. We are also unbelievably proud of you for making this decision. We would be so honored if you would consider us to raise your baby as we have dreamed of becoming parents since we were children ourselves.

If you choose us to parent your sweet bundle of joy, we would start our mornings with lots of love, kisses, and hugs. We have so much love to give and would love nothing more than to grow our family. We would strive to make sure your baby is cherished and adored every second of every day. They would have such a big family that is super excited to be a part of this process with us. They would also have three siblings with paws who will protect them and shower them with puppy kisses. :) We always celebrate birthday parties with our family as well as holidays and would love to create our own traditions with our little family.

Thank you again for reading about us. We cannot wait to meet you and be a part of this together.

About Us

We met each other about ten years ago through mutual friends and had a feeling that it was going to be a completely different relationship than we’d had in the past. Colin serves in the National Guard and is also a maintenance technician on base in NC as a civilian. Victoria is an optometry technician on base as well. We have been married for nine years, but it definitely does not feel like it has been that long! Throughout our relationship, we have come to love cooking together, going to movies, trying new foods, and playing with our dogs outside. Our time is also spent with our family and friends. Victoria loves baking and cake decorating; she makes everyone’s birthday cakes and special occasion cakes. Colin loves to restore and fix older vehicles and to build furniture and other projects out of different mediums. In November 2018 we decided to purchase our first house together to start our family.

What Led Us To Adoption

After getting married, we immediately wanted to start a family. After years of dealing with infertility, we realized adopting is the path we were destined to take in order for our family to grow. Our friends and family have been nothing but supportive in our process, especially our uncle and aunt, who have adopted themselves. Our parents are super excited about being grandparents again and cannot wait to welcome a new grandbaby with open arms! Being able to adopt would be the piece that has been missing from our life.

Our Home

We live in a three-bedroom, two-bath house in a residential neighborhood in NC with many children riding bikes up and down the streets. We live about five minutes away from a fantastic school. Everyone in our neighborhood, when walking down the street, always waves or says hello to us if we are outside with our dogs. Speaking of dogs, we have three German shepherds. Duke is a male, and he will be eight this year. Denali is a female, and she will be seven this year. Lena is a female, she is our new addition to the family and she will be one this year. They love meeting new people and showering everyone with doggy kisses. We have a pretty big backyard with a lot of room to play and would love to build a sandbox or a swingset one day.

Our Family

Extended Family

We are lucky to live somewhat close to Victoria’s family. We love spending time with them, especially on holidays but even just stopping by on the weekends, as well as watching movies and talking with each other. Colin’s family lives in Colorado, South Dakota, and California. We love being able to see them as well when we can. Victoria has one older sister (she has three boys), and Colin has one older brother (married with two boys). Victoria also has a best friend (married with a stepdaughter and son) who might as well be considered a sister to us. We also have lots and lots of cousins.

When it comes to traditions in the family, we always celebrate birthdays and holidays together. We either have cookouts or go to a restaurant and then eat cake or cupcakes with ice cream. We always hang stockings on the mantle of the fireplace for Christmas, along with many other decorations in the house, and let's not forget about the tree! We cannot wait until we can make traditions of our own and maybe even wear matching pajamas.
